Their sound is influenced by one of the very first West Indian Dub Reggae Sound-systems in the UK , the 2tone/Ska phenomenon that is now having a major resurgence, the legendary Eclipse nightclub acid house scene of the early 90 and all the way to today's much hyped retrospective Dubstep scene.
91db is becoming established as one of the most exciting up and coming live Liquid DnB acts here in the UK . Flagship events such as Pressure and Gamma Funkula have allowed the band to be influenced by current dance floor bangers supporting the likes of Andy C / Nicky Blackmarket / Example/ Dread Zone/ Skream / Hatcha/ Skinny man and Dan Le Sac V Scroobious Pip.
The band collaborates with many artists who guest on live performances and work alongside producing and remixing as part of an active production team including: Ratty and Tango / Andy Carvell / 2 Sucka DJ's / Addiction (LTJ Bukem) MC HIFI (Amnesia house) and 42Floor.
This year 91db have released a remix of Rik Mayall's 2010 Unofficial World Cup Anthem 'Noble England' and are currently performing around the UK.
The Ripps are a 4-piece punk/pop/ska band from Coventry. Founded by the brothers Patch and Raul Lagunas due to the boredom of growing up within the city and their love of late 70's bands. The band released their debut album " Long Live The Ripps" in 2007 receiving wide spread acclaim and airplay. Now after taking some time off and with a new line up The Ripps are back. They are currently undergoing a relaunch and, having spent last year touring with The Specials, writing and recording new material and visiting Kuwait to play for the British Ambassador, they have carried the momentum on into this year. They are planning to release an Ep over the Summer and there has been a lot of promotion and buzz surrounding this with new material getting play on BBC Introducing 2 weeks on the trot and a new MySpace and YouTube Channel being launched with fortnightly promo videos being uploaded.
Charles Dexter Ward & The Imagineers howl murderous blue tales and scream deep blue shanties about fighting ghosts, hunting witches, urchins and opium, while a wave of psychedelic fuzz washes over you as it passes through the souls of a thousand dead pirates. Charles Dexter Ward & The Imagineers sound like the bastard sons of Tom Waits wrestling with The Stooges high on absinthe, time travelling on the high seas with only a broken pocket watch for direction.
A Coventry based Indie roots 6 piece originals band, noted for their tight intense music and powerful performances.
Cut from the vibrant underbelly of Coventry's ever-burgeoning music scene, Reubens Cane combine an ever-evolving eclectic mix of heady Bohemia blended with understated yet chronically addictive melodious euphoria.
At the heart of everything they do has always been the mantra of "heart and soul" as they take to the stage to capture your mind and body. As they would say, " After all this is a revelry, leave your inhibitions at the door".
… I'll be blowed its "THE BELLOWS"!!! … And you will be if you hunger for the dark beauty of Nick Cave's murder ballads, the poetic chaos of Tom Wait's bone machine or the world-weary woes of Johnny Cash's rambling characters…
This rag tag bunch of instrument swapping musicians stirs a swampy cauldron of folk, country and blues, cooking up Cossack style upbeat to wistful melancholy.
THE BELLOWS' songs are set around a dusky fairytale narrative and their stories inevitably end in the gallows or at the very least rib cracking heart ache for the songs' many unfortunate characters…
Wes is a Coventry born singer and songwriter who plays an intricate and fluid fingerstyle acoustic guitar. His songs are rootsy affairs with elements of folk, blues, country and swing but retaining a definite sense of Englishness and modernity in their lyrics.
Playing live, he is often accompanied by upright bass, drums, mandolin, banjo, guitars and the close harmony work of his talented backing band. His two studio albums (on local label Silvery Records) have been well received by AmericaUK, Unpeeled and various fanzines and he has recently released a further E.P. with his original backing group The Dirty Band. Wes continues to work with a wide range of local musicians, producers, and promoters and plays live regularly around the midlands and increasingly further afield.
Shockparade exist somewhere between the hardest edge of Faithless, Underworld, Leftfield and the uplifting beauty of Sigur Ros played by Doves in the "Madchester" era. There are two Shockparades; the studio duo consisting of Myke Grimes (aka Mofo) and Patrick King and the full live act complete with live drums, synths and atmospheric guitars. Mofo and Padd fuse together their root influences of 90's indie with their love of dance music, along with strong interests in local to world politics and a desire to create euphoric 'hands in the air' anthems that keep you buzzing for days.
We are a rock band. We play rock music that makes the ladies and gents nod their heads. Sometimes they tap their feet too. The music is constructed from fine riffs and earnest songwriting.

The Kirkland Turn combine the expressive guitar playing and weathered voice of Daryl Kirkland supported by the idiosyncratic talents of his wife, Katie, who creates an undercurrent of drama with her minimal two-drum set up and haunting trumpet lines. With the stoic presence of Cousin Ian Wallhead on bass, the Kirkland Turn make music both hushed and psalm-like shot through with a jagged darkness. Making wonderfully ragged home recordings they release them on their own The band were recently featured on the Steve Lamacq show on Radio 6 with a new recording of the song Brandy Chasing.

An acoustic-grunge-folk-pop outfit. Matt Lakey, Ben Haynes and Wes Finch attempt to bring eclectic backgrounds into a set of heart-felt songs to make you think, jump, shout and cry and laugh.
If you ever walk the canals of the Midlands you may have heard the sound of Mothers Jam floating across the water. Living on a narrowboat seems to have had a strange effect on the musical minds of this clarinet and piano duo, who's style takes in klezmer to 1920s music hall with a bit of punk thrown in for good measure.
