GODIVA UNSIGNED 2010
Your chance to play on the main stage of the Godiva Festival!

Godiva Unsigned is your chance to get your foot on the ladder of fame and fortune and share a stage with the likes of The Enemy, Idlewild, Biffy Clyro, Kasabian, and Super Furry Animals.
This July, we’re giving four bands from across Warwickshire and the West Midlands a once in a lifetime opportunity to perform on the main stage of the midlands largest free festival, on Saturday 3rd July.
We’re looking for raw talent, from a multitude of genres, to take part in the 2010 Godiva Unsigned competition and kick off Saturday’s entertainment with a bang.

The selection process
A team of three judges (consisting of an industry professional, a representative from our media partner and a member of CV One staff) will whittle down all entries to a shortlist of 40 bands.
These 40 bands will then be further shortlisted by a separate team of judges. Each band will be marked on a scale of 1-10, with the highest scoring 20 bands going through to the heats.
The top 20 shortlisted bands will be informed by Friday 2nd April 2010. Due to the level of applications we receive only shortlisted bands will be contacted. If you have not heard from CV One by 2nd April your application unfortunately has been unsuccessful.
The top 20
The 20 shortlisted bands will take part in the live heats which will be held in April and May (dates and venues to be confirmed). Each heat will consist of 5 bands with 2 bands from each heat going through to the final.
One band will be selected by a panel of judges, the other by audience vote. Should the judges and audience vote be the same, the publics 2nd choice will go through to the final.
Online votes
Once the final 8 bands have been selected, the public will be able to vote for their favourite band on the Godiva Festival website from the day after the last heat to the day before the final. Only 1 vote will be allowed per IP address.
The total online votes will count for 20% of the total score.
The final
The final of Godiva Unsigned 2010 will take place in May (date and venue to be confirmed), with each band performing a 20 minute set.
The bands selected to go through to perform on the main stage of the Godiva Festival will be based on judges vote, audience vote and online votes weighted 40:40:20 respectively.
Each member of the audience will select their top 4 bands, with the number of votes for each band collated. The top 4 bands who receive the most votes will then be scored (10 points for 1st, 6 points for 2nd, 4 points for 3rd and 2 points for 4th). These points will then be added to the judges vote (which will be marked using the same points system). The four bands which receive the most votes online will then be rewarded additional points (5 points for 1st, 3 points for 2nd, 2 points for 3rd and 1 point for 4th).
The four bands with the highest total score will go through to perform at the festival.
Should two or more bands receive the same total of points, the audience will revote.
Rules
• All bands must reside in Warwickshire or the West Midlands
• All bands must be unsigned or only signed to a small independent record label
• All bands must have a minimum of 2 members
• Bands must perform original material only on their demo, live and at the final
• The decision by the organisers and judges is final
