Singer-songwriter Kristy is studying a music composition degree at Coventry University and has built up a big following through her excellent singing and guitar accompaniment and her collection of well-crafted songs. She has supported Scott Matthews, Nerina Pallot and Nizlopi and has recently released her much anticipated debut album Emotional Gun which is picking up some excellent reviews.

Born from the lively session scene in Coventry, these guys play first-class arrangements of traditional Irish and Scottish music. Ewan Cameron plays whistles and recorders and fellow Scot Tom McGuire sings and plays guitar, tenor banjo and mandolin. Veteran Lincolnshire singer Bob Brooker plays bouzouki and banjo. Their combined musicianship and relaxed audience rapport has established them as one of the finest traditional bands on the local club and festival circuit.

Meet six talented young musicians from the Warwickshire area who play an exciting mixture of traditional and original numbers, ranging from acoustic songs to Klezmer influenced folk-rock. Their appearance at last year’s Warwick Folk Festival went down a storm and they recently supported Eleanor McEvoy and the Tim Edey band. Instruments include harmonica, guitar, bass, flute, keyboards, melodeon, soprano sax and darabuka plus some scintillating vocals.

For over 15 years, various line-ups of this popular Warwickshire band have delighted audiences of all ages with their high energy renditions of ‘music for a rare old time’. They play mainly Irish and some Scottish songs and tunes with strong vocals, driving melodies on melodeon, electric fiddle, whistles and banjo, backed by powerful rhythms on guitars and bodhran. There’s even the occasional burst of euphonium playing!

Talented singer-songwriter, Rob’s influence stretches far beyond the music scene of his home city of Coventry. He tours regularly to promote the Fairtrade foundation and he’s now raising funds for an orphanage in Bangladesh which he’ll be visiting later this year. Making a welcome return to the Godiva folk stage, he’s accompanied by Peter Banks, keyboards-player of the legendary 80s band After The Fire.

Here’s a captivating sound that brings together the spirit of Celtic tradition and the dynamic grooves of modern rock and jazz. Electric fiddle virtuoso, Joe has worked with Rory Gallagher, Phil Lynott, Gary Moore and East of Eden. Now based in Coventry, he has just released his long-awaited Celtic Cargo album and appears with a powerful line-up: Martin Barter (keyboards), Mark Fulton (bass), Brendan J.Rayner (drums) ands popular Coventry guitarist, Si Hayden.

Writer of excellent songs covered by many world-famous artists, Co.Durham musician Jez was nominated as 'Folksinger of the Year' for this year’s BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards, and his latest album, Jack Common’s Anthem was finalist for the 2008 Indie Acoustic Project USA’s Album of the Year. Joining him onstage is superb singer and fiddle-player, Kate Bramley, not only a member of Jez’s band The Bad Pennies and US band Sweetgrass, but also a popular solo artist in her own right.
